Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) reports allow you to demonstrate how your project goes beyond the minimum energy efficiency requirements and is a truly sustainable design and will result in an eco-friendly, sustainable building or development.
An ESD report is adjustable to suit any development size and used to show the development is meeting council development requirements, justifies more intense land use, or meets the sustainable goals of the developer. The ESD report may consider the following sustainable metrics:

Lifecycle Assessments (LCA)
Life cycle analysis (LCA) is a method used to evaluate the environmental impact of a product through its life cycle, encompassing extraction and processing of the raw materials, manufacturing, distribution, use, recycling, and final disposal.
In regards to buildings, EcoForm can assess the environmental impact of the materials used (including embodied energy), construction methods used, and ongoing energy use to calculate the total environmental impact of the building. You may have heard the term carbon neutral or net-zero energy building, and a Lifecycle Assessment is how that is calculated.
In some areas, such as the Town of Vincent, obtaining an LCA for all new residences at the DA stage is mandatory. You may want an LCA to comply with regulations or the ultimate in sustainable design and housing. Whichever it is, EcoForm can assist with your LCA Assessment.

Green Star is a national rating system for buildings and communities that goes beyond the requirements of the Building Code, intending to establish buildings and communities that use less power and water and promote healthier places to work and live.
There may be several reasons why you are interested in a Green Star Assessment and wish to engage in our services:
- Your development is in a Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority area, and you need an accredited Green Star Consultant to comply with their requirements.
- Your development is for a government body, and they have requested a minimum Green Star level.
- Your development guidelines mandate a minimum Green Star Rating.
- You or your client wish to ensure the development is sustainable and liveable and take advantage of the benefits listed below.
